Recently, we purchased a new MacBook for Mandy to use for law school, which she will be starting this Fall. And as a bonus to that purchase (part of Apple’s Back-To-School promotion), we were eligible for a free 8GB iPod Touch (after a $229 rebate) or an equal discount toward a more expensive model.
Per my insistence (or more accurately, my begging and generous use of the puppy dog face) we purchased the 16GB version. We received both the iPod Touch and the MacBook last week, and since then I have been nearly inseperable from my shiny new toy (the iPod Touch).
My old 3rd Gen iPod with a tiny black & white screen was quickly becoming more of a historical relic than a music player, so it was time for an upgrade. I was able to replace the battery in it once already, but all I was using it for was as a substitute for playing CD’s in my car on the commute to and from work.
So, how have I adjusted to using an iPod Touch? Well, if the unprecedented frequency of Facebook, blog, and Twitted updates are any indication, this iPod Touch has become my newfound tether to the social networking portion of the Internet. In fact, this very blog entry was composed using the WordPress App for the iPod Touch.
Time will tell if this new electronic gadget will have any lasting effects on my online presence. But in the meantime I’m going to make the most of it.
